This is the first sprue of Special Hobby simple set of the Gloster Meteor. Apparently this comes from the MPM kit of the Meteor which has been issued some 15 years ago.  

This is the second sprue of the simple set. Much less parts than the Airfix one, much easier to build, and with finer panel lines 

Progress made on the Airfix one, nice cockpit details 

Also fit problem at the nose , to be solved with putty and sanding 

I got some problems with the fit of the Airfix kit, could be me not following the instructions in detail. Was corrected by filing the wing beams 

Much simpler construction of the wing with the Special Hobby kit. I managed to glue the wheel bays in the wrong way, so the wing halves did not join. I had to sand down the wheel bays to correct this 

but I had I second kit where I could glue the wheel bays in the correct way and there was no problem the for joining the upper and lower part of the wings 

Some putty needed to smoothen the joints on the Special Hobby kits, nothing serious 

and on the bottom side 

Airfix Meteor also needed some putty on the joints , primer applied
