F-86F over Korea - prey

quick start - OOB. cockpit done and ready to be glued in the fuselage. 

fuselage and wings are finally glued together. A few minutes of test-fitting and all joints (except of the front wheel cover) are nice and tidy. no additional filling and sanding required 

pilot figure and cockpit are very basic 

OOB instrument panel looks horrible but for this purpose is good enough. 

only a handfull of parts remaining (canopy is missing in the picture) 

and the hunter is quietly waiting for his prey 😄 

MRP Super Silver base color 

various surfaces sprayed over with MRP Steel and masked for the black and yellow stripes to be sprayed (instead of using the decals) 

black and yellow bands are in place and no damage from the masking tape 

 

there is some places that may need touch up but they will be considered as weathering 🙂 

wing stripes are spot on 

fuselage stripes is not perfect but I'm going to leave it as it is. 

just a few decals left to place... 

quite a few already in place 

 

 

 

coming along quite nicely I must say 

all decals finally in place 

 

 

 

three thin gloos coats and applied wash. next will be cleaning and further weathering 

 

wash is down, two extra fuel tanks under the wings are in place 

 

 

 

 

 

 

two birds together at last!
