[Tamiya] 911(992) GT3 RS Nürburgring RINGTAXI - WIP(Straight Build)
September 3, 2025Engraved panel-line after washed.
September 3, 2025The parting lines were only where indicated and were so thin that they were almost invisible, so I couldn't find the parting lines with the panel lines.
Tamiya's quality cannot be praised enough.
September 3, 2025Sanded.
September 3, 2025I painted the inside black to prevent light from passing through. (I used Vallejo Premium Black)
September 3, 2025I painted the outer surface with white surfacer to equalize the brightness, then painted it with glossy white.
September 4, 2025Masked clear parts.
Painting the taillights would have been quite a hassle and a headache if it weren't for the included masking tape.
I love~ Tamiya!
September 4, 2025All remaining parts have also been trimmed.
September 4, 2025Now I started painting the other parts.
There are some parts that need to have carbon patterns applied here and there, but I painted them as written in the assembly instructions.
September 4, 2025The areas designated as matte/semi-gloss black. But let's call it even with Vallejo primer.
September 4, 2025I painted black to exterior parts for anti subsurface scattering.
Abd I didn't take a picture, but I also painted the transparent parts.
September 4, 2025The masking tape didn't adhere well enough, so there's some smudges in the marked area. Fortunately, since I used water-based paint, I can easily fix this by scraping it off with a toothpick.
September 5, 2025I painted white surfacer on the white exterior parts.
September 5, 2025Masked again.
September 5, 2025I painted gloss color(white, red, black).
And I tried to paint the bathtub a matte black, but I didn't have any matte white, black, or clear paint. I had no choice but to paint it with Black Surfacer...
September 5, 2025As expected, it turned out to be a waste of time. (The marked areas should be semi-gloss and the other areas should be matte)
I'll just skip it since it won't be visible anyway. 😉
September 6, 2025As always, I painted the small details with a brush.
September 7, 2025Now I'm going to apply the decals. The carbon pattern of the basic decals has rather large particles, so I used separately sold decals. (Only the roof...)
September 8, 2025Now it's time to apply the livery decals, and I started with the part that seemed the most difficult.
September 8, 2025The decals fit perfectly, so it wasn't too difficult. Perhaps because the film layer was tough, like urethane decal paper, the decals would slide when I tried to cut along the panel lines with a knife, so I had to let it dry a bit before cutting.
September 8, 2025On the right, the pattern is concentrated toward the front, and it's divided into four pieces along the panel lines, making it easy to work with. However, in this case, it's tricky to be careful to push the decals all the way into the panel line's inside.
September 8, 2025Done.
September 8, 2025After applying the background decal, it feels much easier to apply the remaining logos and text.
September 16, 20251st. clear coat. (GSI UV Cut)
September 16, 20252nd. clear coat. (GSI Super Clear III)
September 16, 2025The surface condition was so bad that I had to sand it.
September 16, 2025Last clear coated.
September 16, 2025Sanded again.
September 17, 2025Polished.
September 17, 2025I painted panel-line.
September 17, 2025I also finished attaching the remaining small decals.
September 17, 2025Ready to assemble.
September 18, 2025I started from the under panel as per the assembly instructions.
September 18, 2025Assembled rear drive train.
September 18, 2025Assembled front drive train.
September 18, 2025Pre-assembled interior.
September 19, 2025Installed bathtub.
September 19, 2025Another view 1
September 19, 2025Another view 2
September 20, 2025Attached the internal parts of the frunk
September 20, 2025Attalched F/R windshield.
September 20, 2025Glued F/R bumper.
September 21, 2025Pre-assembled wheels.
September 21, 2025Combined upper/under body and wheels.
September 21, 2025Next, small external parts such as aero blades were attached.
The blade was also split so I thought it would be difficult to attach, but the parts fit together perfectly so there was no stress at all.
September 21, 2025Finally, assemble and attach the wings and side mirrors.
September 21, 2025I finished it.
September 21, 2025The quality was so good that I couldn't help but exclaim in admiration while assembling it.
September 21, 2025Haven't you made it yet? I would highly recommend!!!
September 21, 2025Thanks for watching 😉

I plan to work it without any modifications, using only 3rd party decals.
