1/72 Academy Boeing KC-97R Stratocruiser

So this is the job HHrAviation hired her to do, refueling the F-16AM and F-16BM's in our fleet 

Another angle of the YF-16 refueling from the KC-97. 

1 from the KC-97 of the YF-16. 

Both members of the "Lightweight Fighter Program" had the honour of being the last aircraft to recieve their certification to refueling off the US Air Force KC-97L Stratofreighter. 

This is the part I'll be working with.
I need to modify them with the pylon from the fuel tank pylon in my kit. 

Obviously I started on the cockpit.
I don't plan on changing much of the aircraft but the cockpit I decided to modernise 

The idea is to have modular MFD's on either side of the instrument panel and HUDs mounted ontop of the dashboard. 

Apparently I still haven't painted the MFD's. 

Now that's 1 big pile of weight! 

70grams of weight are needed! 

Now she's all buttoned up!
The Legendary Franky Day Models says this kit has no fit issues.
This must be all my fault as I have large areas that need filling and sanding.

I removed the HUD's to add the extra bit that should be on the instrument panel.
I didn't take a picture but I also added the baseplate for the HUD and then the glass so it's all there. 

A dry test fit. 

This will be her home. 

Starting to build the rest of the model now. 

Wings built and engines coming along nicely. 

I had to get creative to line up the control fins on the flying Boom.
I.also made my own custom decals to give it that HHrAviation feel. 

Decals on the Props have been completed. 

Everything's built.
That's alot if filling that needs doing around that cockpit! 

Sprayed using Halfords "Ford Stardust Silver" sprey can over Poundland's Matt Black base. 

I've painted the black nose section and All that's left now is to paint the rest of the boom operators window silver before gloss! 

Reds on! 

Only a couple of things to do now but I do overall consider her finished! 

Onto the next process on the KC-97R. 

I took a refueling drogue from the Revell Victor, I used a candle to bend the fuel line.
