Macchi MC 72 "181"

...and here is the second result of the double project, the MC 72 with the designation "181". The uncompromisingly beautiful attempt to win the Schneider Trophy in 1931 still holds the world record for the fastest seaplane: 709.202 km/h with around 3100 hp... This must surely have been a unique experience, both aesthetically and sonically!
