Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurOn a large scale, there is also a helicopter in this round, the Brantly B-2. Here, I will try to paint the cabin glazing separately and only assemble it at the end. The reasonable accuracy of fit should allow this.

Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurThe construction of the Brantly B-2 is currently a little less complicated than that of the Alouette III, which is probably due to the scale, but also to the high-quality parts from AMP. There is only one thing that the kit is completely missing: the front skid struts are clearly much too long and, if installed, would cause the tail to touch the ground! I don't know if I misunderstood something, or if AMP is responsible for this blunder, but in any case, I couldn't leave it like that: I recreated the two front skid struts myself using steel wire and a little scratch building to get them to the right length.

Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurHere, too, I can at least see the finish line... But above all, I'm glad that the transparent parts have remained reasonably clear! Ultimately, however, they didn't fit very well: I had to fill in the window frames with filler and then reapply the paint after sanding with a dry brush.

Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurI can finally present the completed Brantly B-2 to you! The construction was largely unproblematic and proved to be very entertaining. Of course, you have to be aware that the parts have the characteristics of a "short run" production, if this term is still appropriate today.
Handling the clear parts is a bit of a challenge, but I've already mentioned that. Suffice it to say that it remains exciting until the very end to see whether the clear parts have actually remained clear!
AMP always presents models that are simply fascinating, precisely because, despite their significance, they are hardly known (to me), which I really like.
