A few first impressions of what has happened so far: The AMP kit differs significantly from Takom's interpretation of this subject. This can also be seen in the accuracy of fit, the wealth of detail and the quality of the moulding: AMP leaves plenty of scope for the model builder's improvisation and ingenuity.... 🙂 And yet, I still like this kit! Now I'm curious to see how the aluminium tones on the top will turn out!

First, it looks like the Sänger orbital glider will make it across the finish line: there's not much left to do! I'm already excited about the Takom model, which will have a completely different surface.
Just a few more touch-ups and details, and this Sänger silver bird will be finished.

My favourite colours and only choice for such tasks: Ammo MiG (formerly Alclad II) metal paints

The Keldysh-Sänger suborbital glider is now complete. In the late 1940s, the Soviets took a keen interest in Sänger's atmospheric glider and made considerable efforts to acquire both Eugen Sänger and his plans. Mathematician and engineer Mstislav Keldysh was commissioned to revise Sängers and Irene Bredt's concept and redesigned the suborbital glider with two oxygen-breathing ramjets at the wing tips.
Nothing came of it, but what might it have looked like? Well, this model provides one possible answer... 🙂
