Gotta follow this 😳 Sea King? Does Carson not only do S-61's (which at least have different engines)?

In reality, I have three first names: Bernhard Roman Hamster. 🐹😀

In the spare box I looked for suitable material to extend the kit part and found the stabilizer from my NH-3 project (Hasegawa, built in 2015). Fits surprisingly well to the fin of Airfix. Only in one place I had to add a 0.13 mm thick plastic part.

After consulting with my specialist team for Seaking, I have sealed the cockpit very conscientiously from all sides. About 1 hour I carefully dry fittet all transparent parts, glued them piece by piece with CA and ethyl acetate for another hour, sanded them for another hour and restored engravings and rivets.

Compared to Mk.41 and Mk.43, this is the best result. Now I wonder if I actually want to mill out the left window to install a bubble window. It's a typical feature of the Carson Sky cranes.... but I fear this task. 🙈

you are the only able to install a bubble window … awesome work 👍

The quality of Eduards mask (EX989) is outstanding. 99,5% matching with the windows.
Carson machines have closed the tinted windows in half with sheet metal. You can believe me that it really hurt me to expose my crystal clear windows to half the paint…

Vielen Dank, Tom.

Thank you, Tom. Meanwhile, the result looks like this: picture 79 upwards. The work preparation was worth it: it didn't take half an hour and the landing gear was on. Everything is straight and all five wheels touch the ground at the same time.

Yesterday was a big modeling day: after amazingly manageable construction time I made the last „hand shakes" on the mainrotor. At this point I would like to thank for the support with the project: Thomas for the construction of the 3D-core for the bubble window, for David for his excellently researched decals, Carsten for MRH Consulting & the frame for the display and Andreas from Jam Screw for his excellent parts, which were also used in this project: main rotor, rear rotor and landing gear. 😀

This is an amazing build, the Airfix kit is great and I can see clearly what you have had to do to achieve the S-61N, Shortsky. The landing gears are beautiful, along with the tail rotor boom modifications.

Almost uncanny, your abiltity to exceed your previous project every single time, and this one ist no exception 😳
Once again, all the subassemblies look functional and megarealistic. my favourite detail is the „remotecontrol" in the pilots Window 😁🤩😉

Album info

Do you know the company Carson Helicopters from Perkasie in Pennsylvania? Founded in 1958 by Franklin Carson, a pioneer in helicopter technology, the small family business has developed today as a major operator of a station for overhauling, modernization and repairs of all major helicopter models.

Particularly noteworthy is the fact that Carson operates several Seeking N models and uses them for transport / hauling purposes and firefighting tasks. In addition, the company has produced many of its own constructions, which are certified by the FAA, such as: composite blades for the main rotor and the tail rotor, fire extinguishing tank, glass cockpit, a rescue winch and in my eyes the most interesting feature ever: the shortening of the fuselage of the N variant!! The shortened variant is called Shortsky and is just as long as a standard Seeking.

The wide sponsons were replaced by the landing gear of an L variant and in connection with the hull shortening, the Shortsky is approx. a 1 ton lighter so that here is a powerful Skycrane. Under the fuselage is installed a external hook with a maximum capacity of 22,000 lbs.

The Mk.43 is ready but as the saying goes: after the Seaking is before the Seaking.🙂🙂
