After completing a Hanomag tractor included in the kit as a follow-up to the recently completed Sänger orbital glider project in 1:72, I took this as an opportunity to revive a 1:48 scale SS-100 from Tamiya that had been lying dormant in my construction stock for quite some time. I think this powerful vehicle always works well as a photo prop! Once again, I am highly impressed and very pleased with the quality of the Tamiya kit.

A brief update on the Hanomag 100: Tamiya's quality has also been evident in the subsequent construction steps, allowing things to progress rapidly. The end is in sight.

The following pictures conclude our excursion into vehicle construction. I thoroughly enjoyed this straightforward side project: Tamiya's customary excellent fit, moderately attractive detailing and a small number of parts keep the construction of the Hanomag SS-100 Gigant in scale 1:48 manageable. This time, it was truly built 'straight out of the box' – not even Eduard seat belts were used 🙂
The background scenario shows two of Dragons Ta-154 'Moskito' aircraft that I built some time ago. The hangar doors and ground surfaces are homemade, and the forest is a photo mounted on cardboard (from Coastal Kits).

WOW! Some of those could easily be mistaken for WWII photos! Probably even more so if they were black and white.
