Micro Mir's K6 Crusader has a rather rustic appearance. Upon closer inspection, you can see a few gaps here and there, or even the need for a little filler.... I will replace many of the finer details, such as the handles, measuring probes, etc., and build them from scratch.
Basically, however, this is a well-made kit that certainly presents manageable challenges—I'm already looking forward to seeing the finished model!

Today I finished the cockpit—there should be new pictures here soon!

The filler will also have to play a leading role in the next act at this stage. But I must say, it's great fun to see this lethal, high-speed vehicle take shape! 🙂

I see Roland has built every airplane type in existence and having an existence crisis now 😄

Finally, things are moving forward again here: John Cobb's jet boat has now been painted and, in a second step, has already been masked for the Alclad aluminium.

I'll show you the trailer on which the 'Crusader' will stand. I started with a trailer from 'Balaton Model', a very brittle thing made of resin, the whole thing was heavily modified. In its current state, it no longer resembles the 2-PTS-4 4t trailer; I rebuilt the entire structure from etched parts and polystyrene sheets. It should be roughly similar to what I saw in the original photos.

John Cobb's Crusader is now complete: at least, it will have looked similar in the days leading up to 29 September 1952...
Mikro Mir's kit is definitely not for the faint-hearted; you'll need to have plenty of sandpaper and filler handy. But of course, I'm not complaining in any way. Having already tackled a few MM kits, it came as no surprise – and it's wonderful that there are manufacturers like this who take on such unusual but highly interesting kits! And with enough sandpaper, it's all perfectly manageable.

The resin parts of the trailer are from 'Balaton Modell', but these were only used as a starting point for my own version of the 'Crusader' trailer. The sled on which the jet boat rests was also inspired by original photos and is intended to be as close to the original as possible without claiming to be an exact replica.
All in all: it was great fun and a rich experience!

Interesting and tragic history ... and a great build! Learned something new again.
I would never have expected something like this in plastic.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you like it!
Yes, I didn't know the story before Mikro Mir's model, but after that I just had to have the kit...
