Audi Quattro Coupe - Italeri 3642

 

The alignment in the mold gave me the idea to install a sunroof. 

I also started cutting out the front spoiler. I believe this is already open in the mold in the Tamiya kit. 

To get through I try to remove as much material as possible from the inside. 

 

The clips for carrying the chassis are also in the way. 

The sunroof came out fine. 

To reattach it, I'm using a rail I cut from an old Mazda Rx7 kit. I'm also transferring the mounting brackets from the Mazda roof. 

The open spoiler is almost ready, now we just need to open up the difficult corners. 

For the street version, I do need a back seat. I'm narrowing down a Vw bench seat. 

My decision not to install a roll cage presents me with the problem that the dashboard won't fit. This is placed in the rally kit between the roll cage that's currently missing. 

 

A first coat of the final color. To link with the rally kit I chose one of the three colors used on the Rally version decals. The Vallejo Mahogany is quite similar to the Ral 8019 Graubrün. 

In the meantime I am adjusting the dashboard 

Note to myself, never finish a part before you've tried it on. 

Placement in the right location.
