Junkers W-34 Eurasia
May 15, 2016Some parts and the plane.
May 15, 2016the cabin with the added passenger section (and a new pilot)
May 16, 2016very little can be seen from "my" cabin in the finished plane
May 16, 2016surface detail is very nice, but still more filing and filling to do
May 21, 2016
May 21, 2016
May 21, 2016OKish, but still some work to do. I have to open the cabin window to have pilot guy waving out of the window
May 21, 2016Decals (my Chinese colleague transcribed them to me so that I could print them out on transparent decal paper)
May 21, 2016decals applied (50%), a bit of silvering...
May 21, 2016...but generally I am happy...
May 21, 2016...also with the close fit...
May 22, 2016That last layer of gloss varnish was definitely a mistake...
May 22, 2016...as suddenly the decals clearly stick out again...
May 22, 2016...while before they looked fine (and still do at the underside) but not now 🙁
May 26, 2016The ladders are from Brendan sets...
May 26, 2016...one supposedly for the passengers to exit...
May 26, 2016...one for the mechanic to work on the engine (I have yet to convince my decals to cooperate...)
May 26, 2016
May 27, 2016the carriage and the fountain look a bit more realistic now...
May 27, 2016...and, no, the horse is not floating in the air, it'S an illusion caused by the glass plate in the frame...
May 28, 2016Terminal
May 28, 2016NIngsia / Ningxia / Ninsia
June 17, 2016The diorama is basically flat with no elevation whatsoever...
June 17, 2016...but I guess most airfields will be like that 🙂
July 3, 2016I've been busy for a while but finally I was able to continue...
July 3, 2016...adding some figures, the refueling cart, the dog (well, that's from NOCH)...
July 3, 2016...barrels (what could be in the one labelled "XXX"? 🙂...
July 3, 2016...I like my figures in 1:72 better than my 1:35 (which I never get right)...
July 3, 2016...only the Chinese pilots and a photographer are missing now, before I call it quits.
July 9, 2016Complete! Hooray!

Interesting story, will be a smallish diorama with a landed and unloaded Junkers W-34 right in the middle of Chinese nowhere land 🙂
