Kermorvan lighthouse - completed
January 29, 2022First 20 parts of thick carboard glued together (base and stairs sidewals).

January 30, 2022This time I plan a rotating white light. Because the mechanical rotation is to complicated I intend to use this time too my CMOS best friend 4017. I will use 10 white SMD LED’s mounted in a circle. 10 capacitor and 10 additional resistors helps to simulate soft change between the LED’s for better simulation of a rotating beacon.
January 30, 2022LED-array completed. About 12 mm in diameter.
January 30, 2022LED’s CA glued to a piece of 0,8 mm thick plastic (“carrier”).
January 30, 2022
January 31, 2022First round with H165 and slightly lighter mix (H165 and H196) for the edges and around the openings. The original is more middle gray than the picture of the kit-artwork (completed Model).
January 31, 2022Snow white is definitely the wrong color for a lighthouse. A mix of H130 and H196 is the better choice 🙂.
January 31, 2022Second round with red and brown accents.
February 2, 2022Third round with light gray for the edges.

February 3, 2022Outer glass (second thin PVC as upgrade in contrast to the kit) not yet in place.
February 3, 2022Inner windows (cardboard framing + thin PVC) in place.
February 3, 2022
February 5, 2022Slowly things take shape…🙂
February 5, 20224 outer walls (thin cartboard) in place. Edges sanded with 320 grit paper smooth. Any imperfections fixed with off white and light grey.
February 5, 2022The stairs consists of 9 steps. Each step consists of 3 parts because of the needed thickness.
February 5, 2022Completed stairs.
