Bell AB-412

Bell 412HP "H-44" – Fuerza Aérea de Chile, Antarctica 2009

This model represents a Bell 412HP production H-44 operated by the Chilean Air Force (FACh) during the 2009 Southeast summer season. Based at Teniente Rodolfo Marsh Martin Airport on King George Island, this helicopter supported Chilean and international research operations in Antarctica.

Its missions included transporting scientific personnel and cargo between research stations (e.g. Bernardo O'Higgins Base), logistical resupply, and emergency medical evacuation in extreme weather conditions. Overall light gray with orange doors and dark gray
roof walkways. Bottom of rotor blades were black. Upper surfaces of rotor blades were painted in
red and white sections, suitable for polar operations.

The kit used is a Revell 1:72 Bell AB-212/UH-1N (No. 04654), modified to represent the Bell 412 with additional details and markings from Max Decals “Antarctic Helicopters Pt.1” (MAX7222).
