The Czech protectorate's well-established aviation manufacturing capacity was utilized heavily during WW II to produce many outstanding designs. One of these was the Arado Ar 96, the Luftwaffe's premier all-metal advanced trainer. When the war in Europe ended, Czechoslovakia continued the production of Ar 96, now designated C.2, to train pilots for its reconstituted air force.
