RODEN - Fokker DVII

Bought this kit second-hand. It came with some decals for the swedish version of this individual. Göring landed this plane in Sweden 1919. The plane was later taken over by the Airdivision of the Swedish Army in 1920. (Pre The Swedish Airforce) It was re-painted from white to silver/alu. July 9:th 1920, Gustav Von Segerbaden set a record for highest flight in Sweden by the time with 7000 meters (nearly 23000 feet). "937" was written of in April 1922 due to high wear. I will not make many modifications to the set, or super-detail it. Just a nice, quick and joyful little build. I hope!

Removal of the engine covers was easily made with a sharp knife. 

Quite a lot of flash on many parts.. Not the best kit. But the plastic used in the kit is easy to sand and shape. 

Not the best fit of the lower wing. Had to remove the spars to make a good fit to the fuselage. Also had to widen the gap between the inner ribs to make it fit on the fuselage. 

Not a big plane! I like the details of the engine.

Cut a mask on my Silouette Cameo 5, and airbrushed the text to the base. Same ATOM Silver as used on the airframe. 

The kit included a few extra propellers. So why not use them in the smal diorama.. 🙂 

An extra engine was also included. Perfect for the small shed.

The plane with Swedish markings. Notice the strange looking flag on the tail. Its actually a blue flag with a yellow cross (the Swedish national flag) but the cameras of these days inverted these colours, so it looks like it's the other way around... 

 

 

 

Not Fokkers, but a picture where I found inspiration for my simple diorama. Same place and era.
