April 20, 2026The beginning is very promising.
April 20, 2026From everything I've read about MiniArt, it sounds like great fun.

April 20, 2026Bending templates have always done a very good job. And I've used many in my work, some huge ones. This one is the best I've used so far.
April 20, 2026Checking the stand.
April 21, 2026This works. If anyone wants the file, I'm ready to send it to them.
April 22, 2026The details are great. With the help of this I can explain how the handbrake works.

April 22, 2026This item is a very useful piece of equipment!

April 22, 2026I have one remark about the instructions. They don't mention how much force the nuts should be tightened with. I'm obviously not going to use the torque wrench.

May 1, 2026It won't be clean for long.

May 1, 2026I'm trying it to taste. The salt is a little...

May 17, 2026Nice color with AK lacquer finish.
May 17, 2026This seat has seen a lot!
May 17, 2026And the salt reminds me of itself.

May 17, 2026Apparently, the elbow of a scythe and salt don't like each other at all. This was followed by washing, several times. Hairspray again. And a lot of crossing your fingers that it would work.
May 17, 2026The base color is set. And I start thinking out loud about how I would like the truck to look.
May 17, 2026
May 17, 2026Back to reality. That yellow needs a lot of work. And there are still so many parts to put together.
May 17, 2026So. Little by little, everything is falling into place.
May 17, 2026After a very long study of photos, about 20 minutes, I didn't see a G506 anywhere without side engine covers. These Americans do not think about us modelers. Even before WWII, trucks were made with engines that did not have problems with cooling. Now we cannot show what nice engines we have hidden inside.

May 17, 2026Maybe now is the time to share the story I made up about this truck. Somewhere in 1956 in Alaska, the military sold this truck to a local technician. He used the truck for a long time. At some point, he replaced one fender and one door with ones from the auto morgue. The "new" fender and door came from a used truck from the Navy, and that's why they're gray. To keep the truck from being colorful, he painted it yellow. After all, in the far north, bright colors sometimes mean survival.
May 17, 2026Rust. Rust. Lots of rust and lots of worn paint.
May 17, 2026There's still work to be done on the rust, but after I put the headlights on.
