VF-2 Bounty Hunters USS Constellation 2003

OOB assembly which with this kit was very easy, Fits and engineering of parts was amazing, I only had to use a bit of filler on the nose cone. The instrument detail is excellent at 1/72 scale and the crew figures are also well done and look great in the cockpit, which I decided to model in an on deck configuration with wings swept back, boarding ladder and crew steps deployed and canopy open. I wanted to show the AIM-154 Phoenix on the weapons load so I had to do the earliest version from in the kit decals options whice was Bounty Hunters which carried it in the Gulf War. I black based the model and did some modulation using Liquitex grey acrylic ink squitling it randomly with Tamiya Thinner. The upper surface and under surfaces with i Vallejo Dark Ghost grey and Light Ghost grey respectively in light coats allowing some of the base coat and ink to allow for variations in the paint. Even though this is a CAG bird with are normally very clean based on the mission marks I decided to grim it up a bit using Flory gray weathering liquid. ,In addition to the AIM-154, it also carries 2 AIM 9L sidewinders and 4 GBU 12 Paveway II bombs and the associates Lantrin targeting pod.
