These pictures start a project that lives up to the name of the manufacturer - 'Big Plane Models': the fuselage of the Poseidon is much longer than that of the Martin Mars! However, the wingspan will not be able to keep up.
The kit is of very high quality, with a great sense of detail and little need for cleaning. The accuracy of fit is marvellous! I'll show you a few first pictures, which should also illustrate the size of the elegant fuselage.

I am very happy about all your interest, mates - that motivates me! I can show you the P-8 in 'all its greatness' - it won't be any longer, wider or higher, but that should be enough 🙂 The kit goes together very nicely, but a little bit of filler is still needed.

Dieter: keine Sorge, habe noch so 7, 8 Jährchen vor mir... 🙂

Thank you Cuajete! For a long time, there was no news here—and now the construction of the P-8 Poseidon is almost complete! I'll show you a close-up of the two Res-Kit parts I bought for it: they are full of exciting details! Otherwise, the BPK kit is not bad either. In my opinion, the main weak point is the poor assembly instructions; I wouldn't have been able to figure it out without accompanying literature. All in all, I'm especially glad that this lengthy kit is slowly coming to an end. I will of course still need to flatten the tires on the main landing gear, and there are still a lot of little things to do, but completion is in sight!

Finally, the P-8 Poseidon crossed the finish line: a kit that is expansive in the best sense of the word, which has been further detailed with the ResKit missiles and pylons. The result really stands out in the room, and a lot of space has been freed up on the workbench!

Really nice result! 👍
Is the fit really that good? The pictures seem to indicate a bit more extensive filling, and I also read that the instructions are quite unclear.

Thank you for your comments and the motivation they provide!
Neuling, the answer 'in display cases and then once in boxes' probably doesn't help much and is only part of the truth. In addition, some of the models are commissioned works and go to the clients. Fortunately, there are still interested parties who buy some of my finished models from me.

Alexander, the fit is generally good and average, but due to the size of the model alone, you have to expect some parts that need filling. One example of this is the rear fuselage section with the tail unit, which has to be attached to the front fuselage. My opinion of the instructions remains: I highly recommend literature with original photos that you can consult during construction.

Have fun with it, it´s quite an experience- in sense of dimensions as regarding the built! 🙂

Did you you use a semi-gloss coat for final paint on the fuselage?

Well, a homemade one, so to speak: I use thick layers of Gunze clear varnish as a base for the decals and then seal them. After that, I apply a matt finish with just a 'light touch' of glossy clear varnish. This gives a slightly matt effect without losing all the shine.
