Roland Sachsenhofer AutorThe construction of this beautifully shaped double starts with these pictures. One thing I can already say: I am very enthusiastic about this kit: well thought-out construction steps, pleasant accuracy of fit and really beautifully moulded, precise parts. The only thing to bear in mind is that the moulding is rather thick, so you have to allow for a little effort for trimming. Apart from that, the build seems to be progressing quickly!
Apart from the seatbelts, all parts are from the kit

Roland Sachsenhofer AutorQuoting a famous compatriot, I can continue here after a long break with my build report: 'I will be back!'. And indeed, after a pelvic fracture and a four and a half month forced break, I present here the first new construction photos of this interesting double: the yellow serves as a primer for the aluminium and copper surfaces of the radiator system, but also as a coloured base for the red of the surfaces and the fuselage. Slowly but steadily things will continue here! 🙂

Roland Sachsenhofer AutorThe two MC.72 now show all colours and as of today also the decals. I even used the very usable decals for the tricolour of the tail fin, although a little reworking was necessary, as is usual in such areas with sharp edges. I think I will keep the final finish close to this high gloss.

Roland Sachsenhofer AutorThis construction, a double project in two very similar looking decal versions, has now also been brought to an end. As this build was complex on the one hand and shows two different machines on the other, I have taken the liberty of showing a somewhat larger number of pictures instead of the usual twelve.
The kit from AMP is well detailed and proportioned, but you should plan well when to do what - a little experience in realizing braced wings/floats will certainly help. The four more or less point-like connection points between the float pylons and the fuselage present a difficulty. This only becomes stable when you really brace it... well, there are moments when you wish you had the number of hands of a dancing Hindu deity 🙂 During the shooting for "179", a float broke off and then dangled from the wires. Thank goodness and with little effort it was repaired during yesterday's photo session!
