BMW Z4 Hatsune Miku 2014 - WIP
February 1, 2025Washed.
February 1, 2025Engraved panel line to deepely and sanded.
February 1, 2025The front and rear mesh grilles are blocked and the mold is shallow, so it needs to be modified. However, the rear has a complicated shape and the pins for joining the lower plate are located on the inner side, so it is troublesome, so I decided to modify only the front.
February 1, 2025I pasted it onto the etching mesh and cut it out leaving a little margin.
February 1, 2025Now that the molded mesh has been removed, there are pins on the inside of the front to join the lower plate, but fortunately, when I cut them off, about 2/3 of them remained, so there is no problem joining the lower plate.
February 1, 2025Next, cut the plastic sheet to an appropriate size...
February 1, 2025I created steps so that I could stick the mesh at the same depth.
February 1, 2025It will be attached like this later after painting.
February 1, 2025The vents on the bonnet were two piece, so I glued them together and then applied putty.
February 1, 2025I noticed this detail on the box art, but it was omitted from the kit.
February 1, 2025To make it roughly similar, I cut out offof the grill's vertical bars and drilled a hole in the back plate.
February 1, 2025Then I'm thinking of coloring and fitting similarly shaped metal parts.
February 2, 2025Sanded it.
February 2, 2025This is a car that uses a lot of carbon, but it would be difficult to express everything, so I decided to express only a few visible areas.
So I painted the areas where I wanted to express carbon in glossy black, and the rest in matte black.
The glossy black is the new GGX paint from GSI that I used this time, but it doesn't look as good as I thought.
I think the Ueno Black that I used before is better.
February 2, 2025I forgot to paint the inside of the body shell.
And I painted the rear grill and the front windshield area around too.
February 3, 2025Masked.
February 3, 2025Assembled roll cage for painting. I pressed it down because the parts didn't fit together well.
February 3, 2025White Surfacer.
February 3, 2025And, I painted it in glossy white.
The side mirrors are in two colors, top and bottom.
They are supposed to be attached with decals, but I was worried that it would be annoying to attach them, so I mixed green with reference to the color of the decal and painted it. (blue arrow: bright green)
I will have to paint the pink one more time later.
February 4, 2025It was only later that I realized that this was a tow belt.
February 4, 2025After I cut it out, I trenched it with guide tape.
February 4, 2025It's not very clean since I can't sand it down, but I guess it doesn't matter since I'll be doing decals and clear coating anyway.
February 4, 2025I folded the red line tape and put it in. I used 1.5mm width now, but I think it will fit perfectly if I use 2mm width later.
February 6, 2025The hole was blocked, so I unclogged it.
February 6, 2025After I've trimmed all the parts, I can keep a GT wing, two sets of sleek side mirrors, and a rear diffuser as spares. 😛
February 6, 2025I also painted the pink parts by referring to the decal.
February 7, 2025The remaining parts were also painted with airbrush.
February 8, 2025Carbon patterns were painted on complex-shaped parts using stockings.
February 8, 2025Now I have to apply the decals, which are the alpha and omega of this kit. It is very difficult because it is fragmented and has to be applied in 3-4 layers, so I have to be determined. So I played around for about 3 days watching Netflix.
February 8, 2025I bought this kit used, and although the decals didn't yellow, I was worried because the paper was stiff, as if it had absorbed moisture and then dried. So I cut out the parts that I wasn't going to use and tried attaching them, and fortunately, it seemed okay.

Compared to this, this is in really good condition.
February 8, 2025It took a long time for the decal to separate from the paper. It felt like putting a decal that had been wet once and then dried back into water.
February 8, 2025The side would seem to be more complicated than the bonnet, so I applying carbon decals for relatively.
February 8, 2025Done.
Unexpectedly attaching the wing was more difficult than the front splitter.
February 10, 2025Since the shape is simple, I did vector work to utilize the product of new generation I had. 😉
February 10, 2025This is cutter plotter.
February 10, 2025The size was cut too small due to a miscalculation of the dpi.
February 10, 2025I cut it again and pasted it on, but even though it was white decal paper, the base color showed through.
February 10, 2025So I roughly cut out just the text part from the enclosed decal.
February 10, 2025Done.
February 13, 2025As expected, attaching it to the side was a bit more difficult.
February 13, 2025After attaching all the base layers, I tried to attach the pink line decals, but the doorknob looked awkward.
The manual says to cut the door knob part, but the picture below shows it painted just fine.
After looking at it again closely, I realized that I should have cut it in the middle of the doorknob instead of cutting off the entire doorknob.
February 13, 2025I had no choice but to paint it with a brush.
Since the surface height difference is so extreme, it will be difficult to attach on the decal, so this might be better.
February 14, 2025The all decals were split, but for some reason the arms weren't split.
February 14, 2025Anyway, I cut it appropriately and attached it.
February 14, 2025Finally, attached all decal.
February 15, 2025The sidewall decals on the tires were a bit glossy so I applied a matte varnish.
February 16, 2025The banner on the windshield was too matt, so I painted gloss varnish this time.
February 16, 2025The marked areas are supposed to have decals applied, but I thought it would be too stressful, so I just painted them with a brush.
February 17, 2025This is the part that needs to be painted with the most various colors. 😉
The buttons on the dashboard you see in the back come with decals that you can stick on them. (but I just painted them).
February 17, 2025Brush works complete
February 17, 2025I painted the edges of the kidney grille with AK Super Chrome.
February 18, 2025The texture was expressed by dry spraying matt clear.
February 19, 20251st coated. (UV cut clear)
March 7, 2025The surface condition was so bad that I did some easy rough sanding.
March 7, 2025Main coated twice.
March 7, 2025Sanded again.
March 7, 2025Final coated.
March 7, 2025Last sanded.
March 7, 2025Polished done.
March 8, 2025I removed the masking tape that had been stuck on for a long time. However, as expected, it was messy.
March 9, 2025I re-masked the window frames to paint them black (I think it was originally a CF pattern).
March 9, 2025The decal came off while I was removing the masking tape.
I guess I'll have to paint it roughly similarly with a brush.
March 9, 2025Ready to assemble~
March 10, 2025I applied multiple layers of decals and clear coats, so the panel lines were buried.
So I drew them with GSI's new product, the narrow type marker. (Recommended)
March 10, 2025Assembly was relatively easy.
March 10, 2025For the interior, just assemble it to this extent, and then...
March 10, 2025I made this because the kit didn't include seat belts at all.
I only made shoulder belts because the people who made them before said, 'When you finish it, you won't see it at all'
March 10, 2025Now I wrap the shoulder straps around the back of the roll cage after that the interior is fully assembled, and finish it off.
As expected, I can't see it very well already.
March 10, 2025There is no painting guide in the manual, but I searched and it seemed like the bezel was black, so I painted it.
March 10, 2025After attaching all the parts that needed to be attached to the inside of the bodyshell, I additional coated it with wood glue to prevent it from falling off.
March 10, 2025I used hemispherical beads instead of clear parts for the headlamps.
March 12, 2025Attached face parts.
March 12, 2025Painted with MusouBlack(like Vanta Black)
March 12, 2025Attached rear parts.
March 12, 2025Combined upper and under body.
March 13, 2025Attached front splitter and canard.
March 13, 2025This time I skipped the foil work on the side mirrors.
March 13, 2025Assembled wing.
March 13, 2025Attached wing and side mirror.
March 13, 2025I forgot to paint the inside of the grill black. I'll have to do that later.
March 13, 2025I lightly coated the metal decal with UV resin.
March 13, 2025I lathing an aluminum rod with rotary tool , but drilling the hole was harder than engraving it.
March 13, 2025Now finally, I finished it off by attaching the antenna.
March 13, 2025All done!!
March 13, 2025Thanks for watching. 🙂
