Album info Airbus A320neo prototype, Tail number F-WNEO, c. 2014
(Zvezda A320neo, kit #7037, ©2021)
The Airbus A320neo family is a development of the A320 family produced by Airbus. The A320neo (neo being Greek for "new", as well as an acronym for "new engine option") is based on the enhanced variant of the previous generation A319, A320, and A321, which was then retroactively renamed the A320ceo family (ceo being an acronym for "current engine option"). Re-engined with CFM International LEAP or Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines and fitted with sharklet wingtip devices as standard, the A320neo is 15% to 20% more fuel efficient than prior models, the A320ceo. It was launched on 1 December 2010, made its first flight on 25 September 2014 and was introduced by Lufthansa on 25 January 2016.
The kit is very nicely engineered and molded, and includes options for dirty configuration with cabin doors open, landing gear extended, and even flaps and slats deployed. Like most Zvezda airliners, the kit includes a flying stand. It was a joy to build.
Decals are from 8A Decals, and do the job although somewhat thicker. Paints are rattlecan primer and gloss white, and Tamiya acrylics.
