Early "german" jets: F-94F Thunderstreak

I started with the ejection seat. I bought the aftermarket resin one from ASK without seatbelts as I didn't realise that one with belts was available too. The seatbelts at this seat came then from the Cold War Set from Yahu.

I deemed the rest of the cockpit sufficiently detailed and just painted it with some pics as reference.

I am quite happy with the result although the instrument decal of the kit is not that brilliant. Maybe Yahu will offer a dashboard in the future.

The rest of thebuild was very straightforward and I reached the painting stage pretty fast.
I skipped the option provided in the kit to display the gun bays open as I wanted to preserve the lines of the plane.

Here you see one of about half a dozen makeovers before I was satisfied with the base to proceed to the metal colors.

AK Extreme Aluminum was applied and is seen here already masked again after curing for further paint work.

Next round of masking to add some color modulation with dull aluminum

Seen only at second glance the color modulation breaks up the monotony of the base color nicely.

Speedbrakes and part of the vertical stab received a stainless steel look with UvdR pigments.

Thanks mates. Last step with the washing didn't work out the way I wanted as the wash just didn't stay in the recesses. So thinking how to fix that.

Had a similar issue ended up with doing a kind of pin wash left it to dry over night and then just blended the excess with thinner. Isn't very crisp but better than nothing - give it a try
