A very neatly built model, a rarely seen and interesting original. Your text about the aircraft and the build is also excellent. 👍

Album info

About the aircraft:
The UT-2 is a Soviet two-seater training aircraft from the 1930s. It is a low-wing aircraft with fixed landing gear and a wooden structure, equipped with a 125 hp M-11D radial engine. The prototype (known as AIR-10), designed by Alexander Yakovlev, made its maiden flight in 1935. Serial production continued until 1947, with over 7,200 units manufactured. The development version is the UT-2M.

About the copy:
After World War II, the UT-2 was the primary aircraft used for pilot training at the Officer Aviation School (OSL) in Dęblin ('School of Eaglets'). On 8 March 1945, 13 aircraft were transferred there from Zamość, and on 20 March, practical training of the 3rd Training Squadron began. They were used for basic piloting – circling, flying to a zone, and low-level aerobatics. Painting based on TBiU + photos from OSL (other aircraft numbers: 9 or 12).

About the model:
Anyone who has come across this 'product' knows what Amodel is like. It would probably be possible to use more 'small parts' from the model, but I am also planning to build the UT-2M from Broplan, and that is where they would be a problem. I decided to practise 3D design a little and made the engine cover, propeller and landing gear myself. Designing is one thing, but printing these details is another. After about two weeks of trying, I managed to design parts that looked similar to the original and at the same time did not fall apart at the slightest touch. I will add to the things I made: decals, engine (3D print), a lot of details in the cabins, rigging, fairings. The model completes the collection of [training] aircraft used in Poland after World War II.
