Michael Kohlyou grumble at the sprue gates. I actually quite like them at my Arma 262-build, where they are abundant too. All you have to do is take a decent nipper, align it on the flat surface (not perpendicular as usual) and you are left with almost no residue left to sand. It usually works like a charm.
Did you ever have any problems masking futured canopies? In our club some horror stories about this roam. With my future turned yellow I switched to polishing.
Excellent result. I like your approach to the three tone camo and the convincing weathering.

Alec K AuthorHi Michael! I agree, the sprue gates are not really that bad, hopefully I have not grumbled too much 😉. To me, their removal just struck me as more difficult. I don't recall ever having a problem with mask removal from Future-treated canopies (on this build the masks were in place for over a month before removal). I follow this article on Model Paint Solutions: modelpaintsol.com/gu..clear-parts-canopies to apply the floor polish. I do allow Future to dry at least 2 days before handling the canopy, and probably few more before masks are applied. I just think the clear parts look better with Future, but maybe I just don't know how to buff them properly.

Alec K AuthorWelcome L! Nothing special: I use it to simulate chipped metal as with little practice it produces great results (better than paint and much easier, not great for large patches though). It's not flaky like the AK pencils (has a greasy feel to it).
