Tecnokar Trailer with 20' Tank - WIP

Since the parts were large, it was difficult to wash them. 

There were so many unused parts. 

I started working on the parts that needed to be painted glossy. 

Since I decided to remake the pipe, I drilled holes and marked the necessary locations. 

I used up all the files I had and got removed of them. 

Applied putty 

Sanded. I thought my arm was going to fall off. 

There is shrinkage, but I decided to just ignore it because it seems like the rivets would be erased if I tried to fix it. 

I used Vallejo Primer White. 

White surfacer. 

Gloss white. 

Attached decals.
As expected, Italian decals are the best. 

I painted the remaining parts with Vallejo Mecha Primer Black.
Because I had the headache of the primer peeling off when I built the Iveco before...

Before painting, I pre-assembled some parts and processed the bonding lines.
Overall, the parting lines were so uneven that I had to file and sand almost every part. 

Masked. 

And I painted various each color.
The yellow is a bit too light, so I'll have to paint it one more time. 

The photo was omitted, but it was sanded after applying UV Cut Clear and Super Clear III coatings. 

Polished.
Since it is too big, I thought it would be troublesome to polish it with the three types of Tamiya compounds, so I used Finisher's HG Compound. 

Masked. 

I mistakenly thought I was supposed to paint it white, so I painted it white. 

However, it was drawn in black on the box art. 

Anyway, I painted. 

I realized this part too, belatedly. That I should have painted it red...
So I masked it. 

I painted the fire extinguisher red, and the rest with a brush.
I painted the aluminum parts of the fender with an AK Real Marker. 

Ready to assemble. 

I started the assembly with the frame. 

Next, I also punched and cut the Hasegawa Silver Leaf sheet. 

I attached them to the rear reflector. 

I need to color the marked triangle red, and I plan to use Hasegawa adhesive sheets again.
I needed to calculate the height of an equilateral triangle with a side length of 6.4mm, but when I asked the AI, it gave me the answer right away. The world has really become a better place. 

So, it was cut into two equilateral triangles with a length of 6.4 and a height of 5.54. 😉 

It becomes like this. 

Then, I coated it with Tamiya water-based acrylic paint with bur
The clear red and orange of this paint seem a bit pale. 

I applied all the remaining decals, most of which were for the back. 

And I also applied it to the frame.
The decal quality was so good that it was easy to work with. 

I attached a mudguard to the rear fender and put some small parts on the frame as well. Since the joints are small, I think it would be best to let it cure like this for a day. 

I attached the fenders to finish assembling the undercarriage. 

When the etching is large, it often bends like this, but I don't know why this happens.
Of course, I suspect it is due to shrinkage and expansion, but I am curious under what conditions this occurs. 

The tip of my etching nipper broke. (For reference, these are nippers specifically designed for brass etching)
Also, I really wish manufacturers would make the space between the runner and the part a bit wider when producing etched parts. 

Anyway, I wrapped it around the small bottle on the right and straightened out the bent part. 

The instructions said to paint the upper base frame aluminum, but it was depicted in black on the box art.
After searching online, it seems aluminum is the correct color. 

Next, a stainless steel pipe of suitable thickness was cut to a suitable length, and a short end was ground into a rounded shape. 

I put two together to make a T-shaped pipe. 

I cut the G.I. plate into appropriate lengths and pressed them firmly onto a stainless steel rod to make clips. (12 needed)

I was trying to attach a clip to the cylinder when I dropped it. I quickly caught it with my elbow, but I gripped it too tightly and the adhesive seam snapped.
Every swear word I knew came flying out.
I guess I should have just let it fall.
Since there is no way to restore it now, the only option is to carefully reattach it to minimize the height difference and lightly paint it with a brush. 

Anyway, I kept attaching clips.
Still, as I kept attaching them one by one, I felt calmer.
I cut and pasted a piece of Hasegawa adhesive sheet onto the part where the pipe is inserted indicated at the top; it seems a bit thin, but I decided to just ignore it.

Sometimes I get furious like a fire, then I calm down just as quickly, and sometimes I just feel pure joy... The more I think about it, the more ironic this hobby seems. hahaha 

I inserted the tube into the clip. 

I continued assembling. 

I remembered the part I had lost when I first opened and washed it. 

I rummaged through the junk parts I had collected over time. 

Oh! I found a suitable part. 

I trimmed it appropriately, painted it, and pasted it. 

Now I attached the frame and the roofpanel, and... 

I attached a tube that connects to the back. 

The assembly of the oil tank section was completed by attaching the upper frame. 

Finally, it was completed by combining it with the lower body.
There were no separate fastening parts, and it was just placed on top of the protrusions. 

 

 

This is what it looks like when placed next to the truck.
There are no connecting parts or protrusions at the connection point with the truck, so I just had to arrange it like this.
But it is really big. It is so big that it takes up a lot of storage space, so it is a big problem.
