Roland Sachsenhofer AuthorHere you can see the second completed Zeppelin – this time a P-class airship, which is slightly shorter than the R-class: I based it on the naval vessel L-25 and am quite happy with my choice – this airship had an eventful operational history with both the Army and the Navy and was used in 1917–18 to test the first gliding torpedoes. Perhaps there'll be a follow-up project at some point that will make use of this Takom airship model.
In any case, I'll now show you the finished model! Here, too, I've added a backdrop, which has the advantage of being reusable time and again as a photographic background. The water effect on the Styrofoam sheet was created quite simply using Vallejo's "Water Gel Atlantik". The "view from the aircraft cockpit" is a bit of fun, created using a photo of a Be 2c cockpit and a little bit of Photoshop.

The rigging on the tail looks remarkable. It would be good to have a close-up of that if possible.

Roland Sachsenhofer AuthorHi Gorby, I've added two close-ups of the tail section to the gallery – images 5 and 6. "Uschi van der Rostens' rigging", which I secured with a drop of superglue on each and then pulled over the edges of the tail unit. The edges themselves were sanded down and repainted after gluing. Together with the resulting shadow effect, this produces a decent result that I prefer to the 0.3 mm wire I used on my second Zeppelin L-20.
