RAF Red Arrows Hawk 50 Display Seasons

Let's dig into the kit, shall we? 🙂 

basic cockpit, no extra PE or resin will be used since the cockpit will be closed 

Cockpit assembled, painted and glued in the left half of the fuselage. 

Mr. Designated driver in the kit was replaced with another (smaller one) from other kit. The original guy did not fit properly with the canopy closed. 

Fuselage glued together and drying happily 

 

this thing (can not remember the correct terminus technicus for it) was easy work. "trench" is molded into the glass so only small amount of white wash was needed to show this nicely. 

 

Canopy glued with PVA glue in place 

 

 

Wings are on! and the rest of the small bits are ready to go as well. 

MRP red color finally arrived, so I can start working on the side intakes 

Both intakes are drying below the plane 

In the mean time the joints between the fuselage and the wings were filled with perfect plastic putty 

coat of Mr. surfacer 1200; then coat of MRP white and at the end several thin layers of MRP 184 Signal red 

without further glossing - surface is nice and shiny

a little touch up with blue and white tamiya colors and the tail will be nice and tidy 

and front nose also will need some white tamiya color touch up 

looking really nice so far 🙂 

Bottom white arrow painted instead of placing decal (which would be quite a challenge) 

Everything is nicely glossed with MRP 2k laquer and all remaining parts added (front pitote tube, both antennas and front glass part) 

and the kit is DONE! 🙂 

 

 

 

All that is left is the display base - coming soon 😉
