1/72 Airfix Dehavilland Heron Mk2 Raspberry Ripple
1April 13, 2021As the kit hasn't arrived yet and the decals arrived this morning I decided to dig these props out and prep them for painting.
I need to create a spinner cone for them but I think I may have what's needed in the soares
2April 13, 2021The antenna I found in the spares, looks experimental, and the bomb will be modified to a pod with various sensors in.
3May 9, 2021The kit arrived today and the first thing I did was build the engines and test fit the props.
Time will tell if this bad girls hit the floor or not!
4January 8, 2022The hole in the fuselage has been filled and sanded.
The wings have been built and the engjnes have now been built and installed.
I've been test fitting the props and I'm very happy with how they fit!
5January 14, 2022Now it's time to put the PC-12 Winglets on.
6January 14, 2022Voila!
7January 14, 2022Here is a test shot to see if I like the overall profile and look of the aircraft.
8January 14, 2022I gotta say although it's not even close to being near finished, I am very happy with the result so far!
9January 14, 2022Obviously the joins between the airfix wing and Amodel Winglet will need a heck of alot if blending in, filling and sanding!
10January 14, 2022But the future is looking good on the Heron!
11January 18, 2022After filling the winglet joins I decided to give her a test fit.
Bare in mind the wing slots are very loose and the whole wing on both sides will be alot more raised than in the photo.
12January 23, 2022Right, I think that's the sanding and blending all done!
