When I returned to the hobby, in what I call “Phase Four”, the first model I tackled was Eduard’s La-7. Why, you might ask? Because La-7 was the first model airplane I lost my modeling virginity to. Not sure how old I was (around eight, I think), but the artwork on KP’s box just somehow got to me. I made my dad buy it! It sat in the box for some time until my nagging produced the desired result and dad agreed to build it. He glued it together in one sitting, me standing by and watching, and gave it to me to play with (unpainted, of course). Foundational memory, I tell you.
