Beriev Be 200 fliegend

Let me introduce you to the second BE-200 with a few pictures. It should be seen flying in the role in which it can serve extremely effectively as a seaplane: dropping its water solution load over an endangered area!
The outer shape is also essentially achieved here, the KLear Fix windows - including outwardly curved portholes - and various other smaller parts still have to be put in place and the desired degree of gloss achieved. Then the flight diorama making can begin!

The result of an afternoon: today was the day! You can see the steps from the 120mm polystyrene surface glued to a wooden surface to the machining marks with a thermo cutter to the first provisional intermediate result. Now I'll have a look at the whole thing until tomorrow and then I'll continue 'spreading and gluing'. The Be-200 should come in from right to left in a slightly inclined position - according to the slope - and get rid of its water load.

One step further: the fitting tests with the Be-200 are on the programme today, as well as a little further work on the diorama. I don't know whether you'll see any of it, but a bit of embers and fire on the ground had to be there, at least as a suggestion.

After my first experiences, I've now become a bit braver and enlarged the centre of the fire a bit - and well, now it's time for the extinguishing Be-200 to fly in so that the fire doesn't spread any further! 🙂 The first sign of this can be found in what looks like a rocket launch from a ground silo: this is the opaque cladding on the bar that will carry the plane...

looks good so far, but since the plane is in motion, the "water" should not just be vertical, but more on a stepper angle, I think. of course that will make it more complicated, but more realistic,...

Thanks Spanjaard, I'm sure you're right about that!
This first layer of cotton wool actually only serves to make the metal rod reliably invisible, the water cascades will move through the air at a much more oblique angle behind the aeroplane before they hit the ground. I want to finish taking photos today and then show you the results - the whole thing was finalised yesterday.

Thank you, Mikołaj Jakub! Now for the finished product: the hilly diorama terrain proved to be quite photogenic in combination with the incontinent Beriev. That's why I'm allowing myself a few more pictures than usual. I like the topic of firefighting aircraft in general, but I'm particularly impressed by this Beriev that you can have such great fun with such a small scale!
Well, maybe it's not quite finished yet: I'm going to get two small waving figures in 1:144 scale, which I want to place on the highest hilltop in the north-west of the diorama 🙂

Thank you very much for this motivating feedback! I must say, Michael, I felt the same way, that I actually wanted to see more of the embers. But that gave me an idea that I will implement with the next firefighting project, two AF-2 'Guardian' fire bombers: I will simply fly them over a styrofoam inferno without dropping any water – it could actually look quite good 🙂
