1/72.. Airfix Lockheed Martin F-16BM J-882

This is how all 4 of HHrAviation's F-16BM's canopies will be tinted. 

I'm using the 40th Anniversary decals as a tribute to the pilot that was killed when J-252 missed the cable after an aborted takeoff and subsequently ran off the Runway at high speed! 

The decals from J-252 and paint scheme from another. 

This F-16BM carries a simular special tail to what I'm hoping to achieve. 

A more detailed look at the inspiration scheme. 

This was going to be an F-16AM but I change dmy plans..... 

She became an F-16BM!
And like the real thing, Airfix's old F-16A/B kit is very adaptable, A few parts changed and boom she's now got 2 Seats! 

OK after a review of were the kit was at I decided to rip off the rear engine pieces and replace them with bigger, better looking ones!
I've also used the spare Horizontal stabilizers from the revell kit as they had slightly more details and looked more realistic. 

Paintwork well underway. 

Black trimming painted and looking exactly how I was hoping! 

I decided to put the tain decals on first. 

They worked!
I'm surprised though as they are ESCI decals and well known for disintegrating upon being touched. 

Some did curl up but I used Micro Sol(Red), once they were flat onto the surface I quickly rolled them flat and dry with a cotton bud and didn't waist anytime to putting Gloss Clear over them and they have set nicely. 

Looks better than I imagined!

Wheels on now, slowly getting there. 

I decided on a tweeked version of this loadout for 90% of HHrAviation's F-16's.
The others will be in Display configuration.

They are:
AIM-120 AMRAAM - Wingtip Pylon
Flightless Missiles - outer pylon
Empty pylon, to be converted to magnets and used for a selection of Ordinance to represent the verity o the missions
 

She's nearly finished! 

She just needs the refueling port decal adding
