Tiger I Ausf. E (Tamiya 1:25 heavily modified)

This model kit was given to me as a childhood birthday gift from my maternal grandmother in 1978. Having survived the decades since, I am reconstructing the model, heavily modifying it to correct the kit's inaccurately shaped turret and hull sponsons, replace the interior, as well as accurizing other features.

The kit's tracks will be replaced in the future by superior and more accurately shaped and sized resin tracks from a manufacturer in Poland.

The model will be finished as tank 323 of the 3rd Company of the 502nd Heavy Independent Tank Battalion "Mammoth" as it appeared in late summer 1943. It will be heavily weathered and muddied, consistent with the one known photo of the tank.
